Steve Cover and SmartActs

SmartActs is a full service entertainment company and booking agency based out of Columbus, Ohio and is a division of Entertainment Resource Group, LLC, (ERG). Established in 2016 by Steve Cover, SmartAct's mission is to identify, develop, and maximize performance and booking opportunities for select performing artists. This is done through creating promotional materials, advertising, mailings, and marketing across all media platforms. Working in partnership with our artists to achieve their creative vision and goals, we provide focused, skilled, and experienced support in every aspect of their live performance career.

Steve founded ERG, Entertainment Resource Group, LLC in 2008. ERG negotiates and contracts regional and big-name entertainment and concerts for corporate events, fairs, festivals, theaters and performing art centers, private parties, fundraisers, speedways, and summer concert series. ERG contracts and manages all aspects of your live entertainment performance and show production such as sound, lights, stages, stagehands, stage management, transportation, catering and hospitality, artist advancement, meet and greets, and other show-related details.

In the past few years some of the names ERG has produced shows for include James Taylor, John Oates (of Hall & Oates), Darius Rucker, Three Dog Night, Jake Owen, Kellie Pickler, Glen Campbell, Oak Ridge Boys, BJ Thomas, Kenny Rogers, Neal McCoy, Ronnie Milsap, Micky Dolentz, Lorrie Morgan, Kentucky Headhunters, TG Sheppard, Kaitlyn Baker, and Madrigal.

Prior to forming ERG, Steve Cover was Ohio's State Film Commissioner and director of the Ohio Film Commission. In his 12 years with the film commission, Steve convinced Hollywood movie studios to shoot 170+ film and television productions in the state, generating more than $300 million into the local economies and creating thousands of jobs. Some of the movie productions he was instrumental in securing for on-location filming include The Shawshank Redemption with Morgan Freeman, Harrison Ford's Air Force One, and Michael Douglas' Traffic. These three films alone created 1500 jobs and pumped more than $34 million into local Ohio communities.
